$100,000 Raised at The Inaugural Jessica Marulli Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser

Yvonne Boice Champions Endowment at Franklin Pierce University

Samantha Marulli announced that the inaugural Jessica Marulli Memorial Scholarship event raised over $100,000 to fund an endowment for scholarships at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire. The fundraiser held at the Marulli’s long-time Palm Beach home, was a celebration of the life of Jessica Marulli, who passed away two years ago from pancreatic cancer. Over 100 Palm Beach residents attended the event which was co-hosted by Dr. Yvonne Boice and her husband, Franklin Pierce board member, Al Zucaro.

“We were overwhelmed by the support of so many of our wonderful friends who demonstrated their love for our family by so generously donating to this scholarship fund, which will provide a legacy for my late sister, Jessica,” said Samantha Marulli. “Thanks to their tremendous goodwill, deserving scholars will benefit for years to come.”

Dr. Yvonne Boice, who received her honorary doctorate from Franklin Pierce University, was the champion of the scholarship’s creation. Boice, who has been friends for years with Jessica’s parents, Barbara and Al Marulli, believed if all those who loved Jessica united around a single purpose, much could be accomplished.

“Jessica was an outstanding young woman and now her name will be forever associated with helping university students achieve their dreams of having a college degree,” stated Boice.

The Jessica Marulli Memorial Scholarship will be bestowed upon an outstanding student, majoring in Arts & Sciences. Each year, FPU will select the recipient of this scholarship through an online application.

Al Marulli, who is a graduate of FPU, and Yvonne Boice, invited the university’s president to speak at the event. Dr. Kim Mooney shared her gratitude with the guests and addressed the importance of this scholarship to the school.

“Scholarships are a game-changer for many students, providing them with an opportunity to fulfill their potential. Tonight, we begin a journey together—impacting new lives, providing hope and helping others achieve excellence. We do all of this in Jessica’s name,” she said. “Everyone at FPU is humbled by what has been accomplished tonight, and we promise to be good stewards for your daughter’s legacy.”

This scholarship fundraiser will become an annual event in Palm Beach, taking place on March 29th, of every year to commemorate Jessica’s birthday.
